Meet our partners and Therapists

Jeanne Jones, MA, LPC, ALPS

Jeanne Jones (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and one of the proud owners of New Horizons. She is the acting Clinical Director. Jeanne obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from West Virginia University in 2002 and went on to obtain her master’s degree in counseling from West Virginia University in 2004. Jeanne is also an approved licensed supervisor (ALPS) and provides supervision to our provisionally licensed counselors. Jeanne uses an integrated approach of cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, solution-focused therapy, and impact therapy. She is passionate about diagnosis and assessment and provides mental health assessments for new patients as well as independent evaluations for WV CSED waiver applicants. Jeanne has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health conditions.

Regina Roush, MA, LPC, RPT, ALPS Certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Regina Roush is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Approved Licensed Professional Supervisor (ALPS), and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). As one of the owners and the Executive Director of New Horizons Therapy Services, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals and families in the community. Regina is a proud graduate of Hurricane High School and earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Marshall University. Over the years, she has pursued specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Regina also utilizes sand tray therapy and creative modalities when appropriate. These approaches are especially effective in helping clients heal from trauma and build resilience. She enjoys working with children, teens, and adults and strives to create a safe, supportive environment where growth and healing can take place.

Mindy Mitchell, MA, LPC

Mindy Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia State University and a Master of Arts degree from Marshall University. She is currently pursuing certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). For over two decades, Mindy has provided therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and adults in both community-based and in-home settings. Her professional focus is on fostering resilience, promoting healing, and guiding individuals toward meaningful growth. Beyond her clinical work, she enjoys fostering animals and helping them transition into their forever homes, gardening as a way to nurture and create balance, and exploring photography as a form of creative expression.

Shelly Harper, MA, LPC, ALPS

Shelly R. Harper, MA Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is a compassionate mental health therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and build lasting resilience. With 39 years of experience of supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, stress and many other issues. Shelly provides a safe and supportive space where long-lasting healing can begin. In addition to general therapy, Shelly is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful, evidence-based approach often used to address trauma, PTSD, and distressing life experiences. By combining EMDR with other proven methods, she tailors treatment to everyone’s unique needs and goals. This therapist is known for such qualities as empathy and understanding, focuses on meeting clients where they are presently then assists with helping guide those individuals in recognizing and becoming aware of the core issues that they are experiencing. The process then involves developing a concrete plan to meet their expected goals and visions for a healthier future. Shell helps clients develop effective coping strategies, deepen self-understanding, acceptance and create meaningful change. Whether addressing long-term struggles or short-term challenges, she is committed to fostering growth, healing and overall well-being.

Our team of experienced counselors uses a variety of evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices, to help our clients overcome negative thought patterns and behaviors. Sierra Burgess, MSW, LGSW

Sierra Burgess is a compassionate and experienced therapist with a Master’s degree in Social Work and a master’s level license. Since entering the field in 2016, she has been committed to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with empathy and evidence-based care. Currently, she serves clients at New Horizons Therapy Services, where she creates a safe, supportive space for healing and growth. Outside of her professional work, Sierra enjoys 18th-century reenacting and historical sewing, pursuits that reflect her deep appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and storytelling. These passions enrich her therapeutic perspective, reminding her of the importance of context, identity, and the narratives we carry. Sierra is passionate about fostering resilience and promoting mental health in her community. Her work reflects a deep commitment to advocacy, empathy, and empowerment.

Lisa Perkins, MA, LSW

Jenna Adkins, MA, LPC Certified: Violence, Loss, and Trauma (VoLT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Jenna Adkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in West Virginia. She received her masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marshall University and is certified in Violence, Loss, and Trauma. Jenna continues her professional development and practice at Waynesburg University where she is working towards her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. Her research and clinical focuses are in developmental differences, trauma-informed practices, and personality disorders. Jenna utilizes a person centered perspective and meets each individual where they are through a transparent, integrated approach to help clients improve the overall quality of their lives, relationships, and work.

Hannah Randolph, MS, NCC, Provisionally LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

Hannah Randolph is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from West Virginia University. She has a deep passion for supporting others on their mental health journey, with a special interest in working with children. Hannah believes in creating a safe, compassionate space where growth and healing can take place. Outside of her  counseling work, she enjoys reading, spending quality time with loved ones, and practicing yoga.  Hannah is inspired by the words of Carl Rogers:


"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” 

This quote reflects the heart of her counseling approach—meeting clients with acceptance, empathy, and authenticity.

HAILEY HUMPHREY, MSW, Provisionally Licensed SOCIAL WORK

Hailey Humphrey is a Provisionally Licensed Social Worker who earned her Master’s of Social Work from Concord University and her Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from West Virginia State University. During her graduate studies, Hailey concentrated on trauma and counseling, which shaped her compassionate and client-centered approach to care. She utilizes evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and a person-centered framework. Hailey cares deeply about helping people feel seen, supported, and understood, meeting clients where they are, and creating a safe, supportive space for growth. She especially enjoys working with children and brings experience from foster care settings and school-based therapy. Outside of her work as a therapist, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, sharing a special love for animals, and discovering new shows to watch.

Heather Ventura, MSW, LGSW

Heather Ventura is a licensed graduate social worker (LGSW) with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Marshall University. With a background that includes service in the National Guard as an Equal Opportunity Representative, Heather brings a unique perspective on resilience, advocacy, and the importance of inclusive care to her work as a therapist. Over the past four years, Heather has worked with both teens and adults, helping clients navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Her therapeutic approach draws from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and a person-centered framework. She prioritizes building a strong therapeutic alliance where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported in their journey toward growth and healing. Heather believes that mental health is a lifelong journey of self-discovery and self-compassion. Her philosophy centers on meeting people where they are, recognizing their strengths, and helping them build the tools they need to thrive.

Kara Flynn, MA, Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor Certified: Trauma-Focused CBT

Kara Flynn is a trauma-informed therapist born and raised in West Virginia, with a deep passion for holding space for healing, growth, and self-discovery—especially during life’s most tender and transformative moments. Kara earned her Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling from Marshall University and is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), with a strong focus on supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, or identity-related distress. Kara strives to provide an affirming, nonjudgmental environment where all identities and experiences are respected and supported. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that healing happens in safe relationships. I’m here not to fix you, but to walk with you, gently and consistently, as you reclaim your story and your strength.
